Innovative Building Technology
(IBT) Solutions

Through continuous R&D, IBT makes use of the Fortis Building System (approved by Agrement SA) that makes use of modular/prefabricated building systems; non-masonry light weight concrete building systems and non-masonry heavy weight concrete building systems. This technology has thermal benefits decreasing GHG emissions.

Engineering
Solutions

IBT
Construction

Only 25% of skilled labour will be utilized in delivery of the project, the remaining 75% unskilled workforce will be sourced from the local community with emphasis placed on youth and women.

• A minimum of 60-80 direct local jobs are created during the construction phase of each school constructed with the Fortis Building System.
• A minimum of 8-15 direct local jobs are created during the construction phase of each energy efficient 40-50m2 house constructed with the Fortis Building System.

Training and
Development

Training focuses on empowering trainees in skills excellence for IBT through skills transfer, on the job training and courses addressing the professionalization in the Built Environment; Indusrtialization and Supply Chain, IBT-preneurship Business Development, Project and Construction Management, Non-masonary heavy weight concrete building technologies and Modular building technologies trainings.

As part of stimulating local economic development, small and medium sized contractor will be empowered through subcontracting. Considering that unskilled workforce will undergo intensive onthe- job training with 25% theoretical training; on completion of each project, we will be in a position to issue the local workforce with accredited certificates on different applicable superstructure related trades.
